Energy, Infrastructure & Utilities

Drone Solutions

  1. Power Line Mapping

UAV LiDAR is used to measure vegetation encroachment and sag profiling. Compared to the high input cost and risk of helicopter or fixed-wing LiDAR usage in power line inspections, UAV LiDAR technology now offers tremendous benefits.

Additionally, thermal and high-resolution zoom sensors on drones are used in detecting defects in power grid infrastructure by minimising risks to operators and vastly improving efficiency.

2. Asset Inspection

Drones are used in a variety of wide scale asset inspection applications, such as; wind turbine preventive maintenance inspections, pinpointing malfunctioning solar panels, zone substation equipment inspections, discovery of damaged fencing or anti-climb guards from vandalism, defect inspection for wind turbines, and many more scenarios.

This is made possible with the advent of drone mounted high-resolution zoom cameras, thermal sensors combined with specialised inspection software tools.

Highly accurate 3D reproduction of assets is also now made possible with RTK and PPK enabled photogrammetry workflows and LiDAR payloads.
